According to an article from the Harvard Business Review (Martin & Schmidt,2010), there are 7 major mistakes organizations make when trying to recruit and keep top talent. The first two include 1. Assuming That High Potentials are Highly Engaged - One in four intend on leaving within one year- 30% admit to not being fully engaged2. Equating Current High Performance with Future Potential – 70% of todays high performers lack critical attributes essential to their success in future roles (Martin & Schmidt,2010)Although these two considerations are only a couple which need consideration in the HR strategy, it give us some insight as to the need for developing HR Best practices.As a follow up for discussion I would love to hear from other class members of some examples of Best Practices your organizations apply to recruit and retain top talent?
